NFL legend Butkus talks in Kearney on dangers of steroids

KEARNEY — NFL Hall of Fame linebacker Dick Butkus addressed over 150 coaches and members of the Nebraska State Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Sunday with the same kind of passion and intensity he utilized as a Chicago Bear for nine years.

Butkus appeared at Kearney’s Holiday Inn as part of his ‘I Play Clean’ initiative designed to educate high school athletes, coaches and parents on how to play the game the right way while avoiding the use of steroids and other performance-enhancing substances.
