2010 Harvest Preview

Posted October 15th, 2010

Getting corn and soybeans out of Nebraska fields and delivered to grain elevators may be the easy part this year.

Perfect fall harvest weather has allowed combines, grain carts and trucks to run nearly non-stop, creating challenges for area elevator operators and grain marketers.

The print edition of the Weekend Hub on Saturday features 2010 harvest stories and photos from the perspectives of farmers, elevator managers, commodity marketers, railroads and exporters. A University of Nebraska-Lincoln ag economist talks about why the conditions that sparked a recent jump in corn and soybean prices are different than during the 2008 market price spikes.
