Thousands show Saturday for the 4th annual Outdoor Expo.

Thousands made their way to Fort Kearny State Recreation Area Saturday for the 4^th annual Nebraska Outdoor Expo.

Free to the public, the family-oriented event  is designed to meet the needs of anyone interested in outdoor lifestyles, regardless of age, experience, or skill level, through a variety of hands-on activities, demonstrations and interactive displays.

New attractions in 2010 include nationally known hunting experts, hands-on bow fishing, youth Discovery Zone, and a Marketplace showcasing outdoor-related vendors and exhibitors.

Highlights of the 2010 event include activites ranging from archery, boating, dog training, and fishing, as well as educational and instructional seminars, and even a smores eating contest.

Sponsored by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission the expo hopes to increase undesrtanding of wildlife, as well as encourage camping, hunting, other outdoor recreation.
