Cozad’s Sturgeon realizes goal with state title

Tanner Sturgeon began focusing on the wrestling championships last year after losing to Ryan Randall of Blair in the quarterfinals.

Surviving some scary moments in the first period, Sturgeon notched a 9-3 victory over Randall to win the Class B 189-pound championship Saturday at the Nebraska High School State Wrestling Championships at Qwest Center Omaha.
