Students put their talent on full display Tuesday for the Student Advisory Board’s talent show at Kearney High School. The fundraiser helped raise money for a food bank by charging a $1 admission to attendees. An additional performance was held Monday evening for the public, proceeds from which helped defray the cost of the 2009 KHS production of “Les Miserables”. (more…)

The first Kearney-area Tweet Up event held Monday at Barista’s Daily Grind in Kearney helped newcomers get started with social networking platforms like Twitter and Facebook. Out of Waterloo’s 13 power plays, the Tri-City Storm had three goals Friday, in the their win over the Black Hawks, at the Viaero Event Center. The three goals–one in each period–were a team record and tied a United States Hockey League record for most shorthanded goals in a game. (more…)
The Kearney City Planning Commission met Friday morning and voted to recommend that the City Council accept the rezoning of land intended for be the future site of the Kearney Regional Medical Center, west of Yanney Park.

The Kearney Symphony Orchestra held their holiday concert Wednesday night at the Merryman Performing Arts Center, featuring works from famous composers Mozart, and Tchaikovsky, among others, with the inclusion of an original piece written by UNK senior music business major, Alex Ritter. (more…)
