Thunderhead Brewing Co. just keeps on growing. Just four months shy of its 10th anniversary, Thunderhead is bracing for even more growth. The Kearney business started canning its Golden Frau Honey Wheat beer this week, and Thunderhead six-packs soon will be sold in liquor stores, supermarkets and convenience stores across central Nebraska. After missing eight games with injury, UNK’s Jade Meads scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, but she couldn’t break Colorado Mines’ zone defense as the Orediggers slipped away with a 56-53 victory at the UNK Health and Sports Center.
UNK’s Drake Beranek had 38 points as the Lopers fell to Colorado School of Mines 81-75 Friday night at the Health and Sports Center.

The Kearney High wrestlers, the No. 4-ranked Class A dual team, expected to win Thursday nights dual meet with North Platte. However, they didn’t expect to romp to a 59-10 victory. Winning at 12 of the 14 weight classes, the Bearcats improved to 13-3 in dual meets this year. The wins included three pins, two forfeits, a technical fall and three major decisions.
Students at Kenwood Elementary had the privilege of hearing a professional storyteller on Wednesday. Bobby Norfolk is a professional story teller from St. Louis and a three-time Emmy Award winner.
