The University of Nebraska at Kearney football team overcame four first-half turnovers to beat Saginaw Valley State, 35-20, in the first round of the NCAA Division II playoffs Saturday afternoon at Foster Field.
The Four Theaters of the Hilltop Mall welcomed the public to free screenings of 80’s classics Ghostbusters, Sixteen Candles, Footloose, and Gremlins Thursday night. Concessions were reverted to 1984 prices, and following the screenings free pizza was served, while a DJ brought the music of the 80’s to a post-show dance party. (more…)
University of Nebraska at Kearney graduate and Grand Island native Cassandre’ Faimon-Haygood debuted her own production this year at the Americana Theatre in Branson, Mo. ‘The Voice of an Angel’ features Cassandre performing pop, Broadway, gospel and classical music arrangements and original comedy, all backed by a nine-piece orchestra. Kearney High’s Auto Tech class welcomed the Hub on Thursday, to give an impromptu lesson on important tips to remember when making sure your car is road ready for the winter weather.

As an area performer singing songs by 1950’s country music star, Patsy Cline, Ferree delivered the oldies but goodies at the Prime Senior Festival, Thursday at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds.
