The Four Theaters of the Hilltop Mall welcomed the public to free screenings of 80’s classics Ghostbusters, Sixteen Candles, Footloose, and Gremlins Thursday night. Concessions were reverted to 1984 prices, and following the screenings free pizza was served, while a DJ brought the music of the 80’s to a post-show dance party.  (more…)

University of Nebraska at Kearney graduate and Grand Island native Cassandre’ Faimon-Haygood debuted her own production this year at the Americana Theatre in Branson, Mo. ‘The Voice of an Angel’ features Cassandre performing pop, Broadway, gospel and classical music arrangements and original comedy, all backed by a nine-piece orchestra. The Prairie Hills Chapter of Pheasants Forever hosted their “Youth Mentor Hunt” Sat., Oct. 24 at the Fort Kearny Shooting Sports Complex. Initially developed in 1996, the program is available for boys and girls with an interest in hunting but limited opportunities to go.
